Fruit sourced from Metcalfe Valley Vineyard, the northern boundaries of the Macedon Ranges.
Tasting notes by Ben Edwards, President Victorian Sommeliers Association
Bright crimson in colour the 2002 Metcalfe Shiraz exhibits lifted aromas of redcurrants, white pepper, earth and game. The medium-bodied palate offers mid-weight fruit redolent of geraniums, red berries and roasted game. Finely structured with plenty of tannin and fruit, this wine will be at its best until 2009.
Fruit sourced from Troopers Vineyard at Windowrie Estate, Canowindra, Cowra Wine Region of New South Wales.
Crushed, fermented and basket pressed in the cold climate of Daylesford. Abundant dark fruit aromas, ripe blackcurrant palate finished with soft tannins.
A delicate Pinot Noir produced from Estate grown grapes. Handpicked grapes were open fermented, basket pressed, with elevage in French oak for one year. The wine displays cherry and spice overtones and underlying rustic charm with balanced oak. The finish is of soft and elegant tannins.
Single vineyard fruit grown in the ultra cool climate produces a natural, crisp acidity with citrus and melon fruits. The subtle wood influence gives complexity with a sweet and mineral finish.
Spicy, strawberry bouquet with a fresh, dry palate and crisp finish.
Some of our 2000 Shiraz was fortified with brandy spirit and blended with concentrated mataro to result in an elegant dessert style
Predominantly Chardonnay with 10% Pinot Noir. Aromas of white peach with a delicate dry palate.
